Former Oklahoma Secretary of State and Tulsa Mayor Susan Savage has been named consultant and senior director of philanthropic development of Morton Comprehensive Health Services.Savage will assist in the development of a nonprofit foundation to support Morton in its delivery of primary and preventive health-care services to northeastern Oklahoma through its various locations.
"Susan will expand relationships with individuals, foundations, businesses and other organizations, and groups in the community that value health care and the mission of Morton," Morton CEO John M. Silva said.
"Morton's mission is to provide 'quality-focused, cost-effective and family-based health services ... to all people without regard to their finances, culture or lifestyle.' "
Through its eight locations, Morton offers primary-care medical and dental services, including adult and pediatric health care.
It also provides education programming, materials and resources for maintaining a healthy quality of life for its patients.
"Morton is a dynamic organization providing high quality, affordable and accessible health care to Tulsans and Oklahomans," Savage said.
"Few issues are as critical to the welfare and growth of our community and state as the health and wellness of its citizens. I welcome the opportunity to work with Morton's leadership and providers to meet the growing needs for community-based health care services."
For 91 years, Morton has been providing comprehensive medical, dental and ancillary services to individuals regardless of race, religion, ethnicity, national origin or one's ability to pay for services.
