?Major exercise accomplishment: Lifting heavier weights.

?Proudest exercise accomplishment: Still being able to keep up with my high school athletes and receiving compliments from them!

?Significant health improvement: Maintaining good health.

?Why I exercise: Exercising regularly now leads to so many benefits later in life. I want to look at myself in the mirror and be proud.

?How working out makes me feel: Energized; I have a sense of accomplishment every time I work out. I know I did something good for my body. I feel happier and more relaxed.

?I've been exercising regularly since: Ninth grade.

?How I find the time: Everyone has some time during the day to work out, even if it's late at night. I go whenever I have that time. No excuses.

?What motivates me: My competitive nature motivates me to keep striving to be the best I can be.

?What keeps me going: As a coach, I feel it's important to be a positive example/role model for my athletes. Slacking is not an option.

?When the weather is bad: I'm at the gym, but I'm not afraid to run outside in the rain either.

?Favorite gym: Gold's Gym, Whitehall has all the equipment I need and a friendly atmosphere.

?Favorite video: P90X Ab Ripper X.

?Role model: Josef Gloor, aka "Joey" the trainer. A former teacher, Joey is as inspirational and knowledgeable trainer who has helped countless people achieve their fitness goals.

?Favorite equipment: Free weights.

?Special strategies: I keep things interesting and frequently change up my workouts. Having my workouts planned makes it easier to follow through.

?How I control the urge to loaf: I put on some up-tempo music. It instantly makes me want to get up and move.

?Most helpful tip: Work out with a partner so you can motivate each other.

?Favorite workout song: E-40 "Tell Me When to Go."

?Foods: I eat a lot and I eat frequently! Oatmeal, egg whites, fruit, veggies (especially spinach), nuts, salmon and chicken. I also drink a sip or two of Kefir (probiotic) with breakfast that I consider my "liquid vitamin."

?Tips for starting: Motivation just doesn't happen, it's something you create. What do you really want for yourself and your future? Answering that may get you moving.

?Comments: I've been coaching high school cheerleading and track and field for seven years in the district where I teach. As a coach, I feel it's important to lead by example, so I work out and lift with my athletes as much as possible. It's my personal goal to be able to run, sprint and hurdle until I absolutely can't do it anymore.
