While a lot of heat has been generated around the startup scenes in London and Berlin, Barcelona has been slowly growing a scene focused both on the Spanish and Latin American markets and a new generation of internationally focused startups. Not unlike Berlin, the tech scene over the years has attracted international people drawn by the proximity to Europe's main hubs and, let's face it, the amazing weather and lifestyle. And although Spain's economic troubles have affected the Catalan capital, the Barcelona city council and a number of local entrepreneurs have been whipping up a great new scene with a number of initiatives like District 22@, the Barcelona Tech Bridges to Silicon Valley networking events, and BarcelonaIO. That's why we are putting together
a TechCrunch Mini Meetup there on December 13, and we want investors and startups to come.
